How many breaths should I take per minute?

With a stopwatch in hand, you're going to breathe as normally as you can for exactly one minute, and you're going to count how many breaths you took in that minute. For clarity, a breath includes both the inhalation and exhalation steps, or breathing out.

Are you ready? Are you ready? Let's count. Inhale and breathe normally, and count until you reach the minute mark.

How many breaths did you count in 1 minute? A normal person can breathe around 15 breaths per minute, but for athletes, it's recommended to breathe at least 10 breaths per minute. This will help you recover tissue much faster, increase heart rate variability, and reduce injuries. Did you know? Reduce injuries!

Many of us wonder why we would have fewer injuries when we breathe better, and this has to do with many factors, but we will tell you some key ones:

A poor level of attention prevents you from properly focusing your efforts and can lead to muscle injuries due to blood flow problems and excessive muscle tension. On the other hand, when you have control over your breathing, you can have greater clarity and concentration on the movements you perform. This will give you a much more focused mind, ready to avoid distractions that could cause you to make a mistake.
